Editing Analysis - Ad Astra

The Movie Ad Astra Ad Astra was a compelling space adventure that hold itself through magnificent visuals and great plot despite its slowness in the editing process.  I will say I enjoyed the world building touches and Brad Pitt's space death curse. I feel like the writing/directing/editing definitely could have done a better job with all of that talent, though. The most “realistic” space movie I’ve seen, I loved the portrayal of the “near future”. Cinematography was absolutely amazing, as well as acting and sound editing & mixing. Story was engaging. I love the tender introspection in such a big story. My favorite part was when traveling to the moon was depicted as unglamorously as flying coach to LaGuardia. I would love to eat Applebee’s in Zero G’s. Great editing. The movie first and foremost is a technical masterpiece. The cinematography, sound editing/mixing and score are beautiful.
